The Villas at Riverdale, the first ICF subdivision in Newfoundland and Labrador, redefined the landscape of residential community living. Embracing the use of Nudura Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs), this fully sold-out development not only met but exceeded the owners' expectations for energy-efficient housing.

Through the insulation value of ICF walls, each unit achieved an Energy Star Rating of 86 and reduced heating costs to under $1 per day. In addition, proper planning ensured that ICF block dimensions were perfectly matched, resulting in zero material waste.

The use of ICFs for both exterior and interior demising walls between units significantly enhance the homes’ soundproofing, fire resistance and resilience in the face of extreme weather. On top of this, Nudura ICFs reduced the construction timeline by two weeks per unit, despite harsh winter conditions.

Designed for the aging population, the slab-on-grade design ensures accessibility and convenience for tenants with various mobility needs. The ICFs created a stable, insulated building envelope that lowers HVAC loads and utility costs, thereby maximizing long-term affordability.
